Accompanying the symposium's scientific programme, the Culture & Arts Programme brings the outcomes of the fieldwork and oral history project carried out at the Center for Cappadocian and Cultural Studies to the academic community and the public. Over three days, the exhibition, concert, conversation and excursion turn to the carriers of knowledge, and the surfaces it is carried on.

Official Opening of the Exhibition
Photographs from the fieldwork and video recordings of interviews with healers. Documents gathered from Zemi Valley, Özkonak, Ürgüp, Hacıbektaş and Uçhisar are presented to an audience for the first time.

TÜMATA Concert
A short introduction and performance built around the instruments and repertoire of the Central Asian tradition of healing through music.

Carrier Surfaces · Video Installation
An installation in which footage from the field is projected onto stone surfaces, running in a continuous loop throughout the evening. Accompanied by a cocktail reception.

Healing in Anatolian Culture
Photographs, video recordings from oral history interviews, and field notes. The exhibition remains open to visitors throughout the symposium and for one month afterwards.
